Please Walk Away

Please please please go with other moving company. A lot of damages, our sofa, rugs, mattress and many other items were carelessly dragged on the wet ground, computer screen they packed arrived broken along with many other furniture pieces, and the claim process is impossible. The quote was way off too, and I’m talking about the final volume was not that far off from the original quoted volume, but the final cost is more than double what they quoted. Whitney Baker at Golden Gate Relocation is the worst customer service person we’ve ever encountered in our lives so far. Many things are wrong with this company, too many to write down, please trust us and walk away from this company.

Do not use them

There should be an option for zero stars. This company dropped off our items and over half the boxes were completely damaged, smashed in, or flattened like they tossed and piled on. Multiple Damages in those boxes. Also, gave them a bike to pack and when I got it back, the frame was bent, parts broken, and the wheels off. When the movers dropped off, they couldn't leave fast enough. I called the driver realizing one prominent box was missing. He then refused to turn around and told me next time this happened he would just say he didn't have it and then proceed to leave it on the side of the road. I had to go meet him in the next town north of me to retrieve it from him. After that settled, I received no emails back from my point of contact at the GGR until 3 days later when another rep called me and essentially offered no help, but to fill a claim for 60 cents on the pound. This company will actively make it seem like a good deal, but in reality they are actively scamming people and not moving this efficiently or safely in a timely manner. Do not, I repeat, do not give this company business

Great Experience

Golden Gate Relocation is an excellent company. I had an opportunity to use this company to move my things from Elizabeth, North Carolina to Oakland, CA. At first I was worried that they might damage my belongings due to such a long distance. But they proved me wrong and moved my entire belongings without any problems and I was extremely happy with their excellent job.

That’s how moving should be done and I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for both local and interstate moving. They’re are an amazing company, please contact them as soon as possible.

Thanks again Golden Gate Relocation and keep up the good work.

Lack of normal expected packing behavior

Do not use this company to pack your belongings. I was told items would be wrapped with paper and tv boxes uses (for our large curved monitor). Neither was true. I have pictures to show their deficient packing. When my items were delivered (my photo albums dangling out the door of the truck), I was only offered the chance to use their complaint service which is a clunky, time-consuming website. After cataloguing all the damage- including our broken monitor (which is an $800 item) we were offered $74 if we signed a release that would gag us from telling this story. We did not sign. Some items were lost with no apparent effort to find them. Research your moving company. And don't use this one. Really, a 12 year old child would understand how to pack better than these people.

Secondary issue was the local lead on this side of the country tried to charge me an additional $1000 for the delivery but I had read the contract and rebutted his fabricated excuse and got my belongings- as damaged as they were. Others may not know to read the contract and be informed. Beware!

Not licensed to do business in California _ Please Read

I used Golden Gate Relocation LLC. last June. Most of my expensive item's came up missing and many more items damaged. The company was not willing to resolve the issue, so I sought other avenues. During my searching for help I contacted Bureau of Household Goods and Services at https://www.bhgs.dca.ca.gov/. I was surprised to be informed that Golden Gate Relocation LLC. is not even licensed to work in California and anyone that has used them to move in, or out of, California can file in small claims court in California and be awarded all monies paid refunded to you.

Takes advantage of the disabled

This company is being sued in a class action lawsuit and is the worst moving company I’ve ever worked with. I personally have autism and am severely disabled. The company took advantage of my disability. They filled out paperwork on my behalf and without my permission and refused to offer me the insurance options I was asking for multiple times both in person and over the phone. They intentionally didn’t deliver the heaviest items from my move. They strung me along for months and were almost impossible to reach before telling me they couldn’t find my items. When they are charging you for your move by weight and then specifically don’t deliver the heaviest items from the move it demonstrates a clear and intentional breach of the services they were contracted to do. I tried to communicate with the movers that they needed to disassemble a table and they refused to do what I was saying and instead wrapped the glass table in bubble wrap and then placed heavy items on top of it and smashed it into pieces. This company has violated my ADA rights and steamrolled over my ability to communicate and has demonstrated an extreme amount of negligence.

Worst moving experience ever

Worst moving experience ever. Sales team was super reassuring about "no hidden fees", "we're not a broker", etc, etc. First, they assign you primary and secondary moving dates. So if you need a specific day, good luck. They pushed our primary Saturday to Sunday which made us pretty nervous. We decided to rent a UHaul and start moving smaller item and boxes ourselves to get ahead of any potential problems. By time they showed up on Sunday at 11am (keep in mind this is enough furniture for a 4BR house), we'd already moved roughly 75% of the items ourselves. I confirmed with the sales department that the foreman would make the item adjustments once they arrived. The guy tells us he needs to add additional dollars on for stairs and extra bulk items and then we can pay the full estimate plus these extra charges and they can get started. I finally force him to provide a new moving quote based on the 75% fewer items that are now in the house, and he creates a quote that's HIGHER than the initial intake!! Needless to say we sent them on their way, and I can only imagine that the quote would've doubled if we hadn't moved anything ourselves. On top of all of it, the company refuses to refund our $1100 deposit. Easily the worst moving experience of my life. My wife and I rented another UHaul and hired a couple of guys in the Home Depot parking lot who were excellent help, hard workers, and super friendly. Thank goodness it was a local move we were able to handle ourselves.

Caveat Emptor - Stay away from this company

Golden Gate is a crooked company. Over 1/4 of our belongings were 'missing'. . . It took them a month to schedule a truck to drive it out to us.

They made excuse, after excuse as to the multiple delays in loading the truck.

When my wife was calling around, the lady said that they handle every step in-house. WRONG! They hire multiple companies, from packing, shipping, and delivering.

If you value your belongings, I would steer clear of this company.

OH, they've been shut down before. They have a shiny new name, along with their crooked employees.

Costly mistake hiring this company.

Costly mistake hiring this company. Was lied to from the start, given verbal delivery dates but was told they were not guaranteed because he Steven didn't say "he Promised". Our load was picked up Jun13th with a first delivery date of Jun16th. It didn’t arrive until July8th even though Steven assured in writing that it would arrive sooner. My 1,000lb tool box was delivered to GA instead of MN with my load. I was told it would arrive in 7-10 days by Whitney. By July 31st, 25 phone calls with only 5 being returned I still wasn't been given any information on when the tool box will be delivered. Then Whitney told me that they were working on it and that it would be picked up later in the week(Aug 1st-4th)as well as a photo of my tool box and an address in GA of the house it had been delivered to. She said it would be shipped back to CA. I drove to CA to pick up the toolbox and bring it home myself. I arrived in CA and called Whitney on Mon, Aug. 7th and was told it still hadn’t been picked up yet with no other explanation. She then told me later the truck had mechanical issues. Aug14th, no phone call from Whitney as to when it will be picked up. I was told by GGR that I could hire another company to make the delivery and that I would be reimbursed. I spoke to Michael who instructed me to write an email addressed to info@goldengaterelo.com so the whole company would see and possibly get a response, it was ignored. I have been told by different employees of GGR. that I've been too understanding in this situation and I see that it is not benefiting me in any way as far as getting my property returned. Whitney gave me the contact information on their client who had the toolbox and I had to hire a second trucking company to pick up and deliver the tool box to my address, costing me an additional $1,000 on top of what I had already paid them. GGR denied my claim for all the damaged and missing items And denied offering to reimburse me for having to hire a second truck.

Consider Alternatives

This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. The gal who gave me a quote was wonderful, but from that point on, service was deplorable. I paid an extra $1500 for the packing service. The "packers" (I use the term loosely) arrived at noon reeking of marijuana. There were five of them, so it was hard to keep track of what they were doing and where they were. Things were haphazardly thrown into boxes with no consistency as to what room the things were from (i.e., something from the office in with something from the kitchen). None of the boxes were labeled, making the unpacking miserable. Care was not taken when wrapping glass items. I had a 150+ year old china cabinet with curved glass which showed up with one of the door's glass broken. Several other items were broken or bent. Lots of nicks and scrapes, as well. They were rude to my neighbor, when asked what they were doing (they were poking a stick at a little lizard that was in the front yard). Needless to say, their focus was not on the careful packing of my items. In addition, I was told that if I paid for everything up front, things would arrive faster. It took the full 21 days for my things to get to Iowa. I highly discourage anyone who is thinking about using this company for a move. If you are going to use them, be sure to ask enough questions before shelling out money for the packing service. I also suggest that the company hire women to do the packing - or at least train the people who are going to do it, so that care is taken when packing. It was a wasted $1500. I wish in retrospect that I would have packed everything myself. The claims process is also a joke. Pages and pages of documentation required for very little reimbursement. All-in-all, a horrible experience.

THE WORST POSSIBLE

Do NOT trust any positive reviews for Golden Gate Relocation. They are the scum of the earth. I hired them based off positive reviews and a recommendation from a Facebook group to move my my mom from San Diego to Omaha in Feb of 23 shortly after my dad passed away. The estimator, Brian Bober, would never come out to the house to give us a proper estimate, always insisting on doing a zoom call. We did 2 zoom calls, once when we signed up and again less than a week from pickup. My mom changed her mind about what she was moving so he adjusted the estimate and it was only a few hundred dollars. The driver showed up on the scheduled day and threw a fit that we were grossly under the amount of volume she had to load up. It went from $5500 to $14,000. I was furious, but I had no choice other than to negotiate with them. Movers leaving CA were backed up for weeks if not months and everything my mom had was boxed and ready to go. Her lease was expiring and she had no where to go. I got them down to $9500 and signed a new deal. They were supposed to deliver her items around 3 weeks later, and when I called to confirm three days before, the truck was still in CA. IT HADN'T EVEN LEFT YET. Per the terms of the agreement, we had to pay them by Zelle before the delivery, should have been a red flag but a lot of companies at the time were requiring it. They were 3 weeks late delivering her things and did not give a shit. Then, when the truck finally showed up, they couldn't get the truck into the apartment parking lot even though I told them about it. It took 3 hours to get a smaller truck there, so they unloaded the semi into the box truck and took the box truck to the front door. There were so many things broken or missing it was unreal. My mom was devastated, and still is. We filed a claim and they offered $.60per pound for items lost or damaged. It was offensive and insulting. We filed in small claims court for damages but they are a scam company and we have not been able to serve them yet. STAY AWAY!!!

Worst service ever…

I profoundly regret contracting Golden Gate Relocation for my move. I only give 1 star because there is no option of putting zero. From pick up, the shadiest of impressions, a rental truck and a car appeared with a crew of 6 individuals; no uniforms, no training, no care for your personal belongings and no commitment to the “White Glove” service. Maybe paid by the job, so the faster they pack the better, for the next nine hours I struggle, unable to be on the sidelines just to watch them drawer dumping my stuff into boxes. Furniture wrapped with paper and plastic, no blankets, no crates (promised) for the delicate items, no care for antiques, things got scratched, no disassemble provided, just dismantle furniture to the last bolt and as I found at delivery, no box of parts was to be found to put things together. Delivery crew was also dumbfounded and unable to put my things back together. At delivery an antique lamp came wedged between two bicycles, not wrapped even in paper, bare and on the floor of the truck, not even tied. Boxes came broken, opened, scratched and deformed. Items are lost, furniture is damaged, things are not put together. I felt like a hostage during the move, they “have” your belongings, your family history, your personal stuff, still you have to pay. My only hope came when customer service contacted me, surprised on my experience they requested fotos, I thought, maybe management will do something… nothing. The final response is “file a complaint”, you are sent to a third party vendor who will take seven days to respond, what do you do until then? I’m in the meantime left without assembled furniture, with an incomplete move, paid in full for services not rendered and exhausted and upset without control. Awaiting the claims response, following the process as best as I can. I sincerely regret contracting GG for my move, stressful, disappointing, frustrating, hurting and to close expensive, which might be ok if at least you get the service.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST COMPANY

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST COMANY. In California, even interstate moving should get the permit from CA government while they don’t have that permit at all.

And I suggest take a look at the reviews on BBB and TRUSTPILOT. Most of the reviews here are suspicious. The most recent ones on TRUSTPILOT are telling the true stories.

1. They let me sign valuation section(insurance) of lading contract without explanation then THEY THEMSELVES added “60 cents per pound per item” to the box where should be written by me, the customer. So now I can only claim $10 for a laser printer $18 for inversion chair and have to wait for months.

And the company even attempted to deceive me into signing another page of the contract with a lower weight on the pickup date.

2. Their sales representatives may give misleading estimates and then switch out the team of movers who actually execute the move. The final estimator came to my house and refused to take my family-use size treadmill saying it was too big, unless I add $150 even if I reduced significant number of boxes and belongings. He also claimed my regular size sofa too big.

If I didn’t agree with it I lost the deposit.

3. They forced me to sign the delivery confirmation before I even saw any of my items. I don’t even have time to test my monitors and tv they just LEFT WITH WRAPPING PAPER AND PLASTIC ALL OVER THE ELEVATOR. Moreover they refused to unwrap one of the sofa, dresser, tv stand.

4. Significant damages. One of my chair was lost, my printer broke into pieces, furnitures were damaged and many pieces of furniture hardware were lost.

5. The sales representative promised a delivery time of 3 days, but the contract allowed for a range of 1-10 business days. The items finally arrived 12 days later. The sales representative denied promising a delivery time of 3 days.

6. The delivery team attempted to charge additional fees not specified in the contract, including an elevator fee and long-distance fee, despite the loading zone being less than 75 feet from the elevator and no steps being involved.

Extremely Disappointing Moving Experience with Golden Gate Relocation

I recently hired Golden Gate Relocation for my move, and unfortunately, my experience with them was far from satisfactory. There were several significant issues that marred the entire process.

1. ESTIMATE: Initially, I was impressed by Michael's courteous demeanor and patience during the estimation process. However, despite clearly expressing my preference for an overestimate to avoid budget constraints, the final bill ended up being almost double the quoted price. This significant discrepancy of over $3,700 was financially burdensome and completely unexpected.

2. PICKUP DAY: The pickup day experience was less than ideal. The crew's late arrival and their subsequent departure for an extended dinner break were frustrating and inconvenient. The rescheduling of the work to the next day caused further inconvenience, and the packing method employed resulted in a chaotic and disorganized unpacking experience.

3. FORGOTTEN STUFF: One of the primary reasons I opted for a full pack service was the expectation that all my belongings would be packed and ready for delivery. Unfortunately, I found that several essential items, including kitchenware and cleaning supplies, were left behind. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing and inconvenient.

4. DELIVERY: The delivery process was the most disappointing aspect of my entire experience. Despite specifying the desired delivery date as June 30th, I later learned that this only marked the first available date for delivery, not the actual delivery date. Consequently, my items were delivered a week later, leaving me in an empty house and incurring additional costs for alternative accommodations. Moreover, during the unloading process, the moving crew damaged my new house, including my entryway door frame, and failed to inform me about it.

5. CUSTOMER SERVICE: My attempts to address these issues with the company's customer service representative, Whitney, were met with resistance and argumentation. Her refusal to acknowledge the extent of the problems and the lack of accountability left me feeling disregarded and unheard.

In conclusion, my experience with Golden Gate Relocation was marred by inaccurate estimates, delayed deliveries, careless packing practices, and inadequate customer service. The subsequent discovery of broken items upon unboxing and the unreported damages to my new house only added to my disappointment. Regrettably, without any satisfactory resolution, I feel compelled to share my negative experience with others to caution them from encountering similar issues with this moving company.

Long-distance move from California to Arizona

Know the facts before choosing this company

I interviewed different companies to help with a move for my clients in the Palm Springs area. I tried to get clear answers on how the process worked, and should have walked away when things were not clear. I also had an arrangement that was supposedly cleared but then after the pick up happened, I was told to read my contract and that there’s no way they can accommodate. A few facts to consider before using this company: For moves up to 500 miles, they give a range of 0 to 6 business days meaning that it’s up to eight days because there’s always at least a weekend, but then they have the fine print that in California they actually have 30 days (not sure if that is in every state) they also put the items on a semi, so if a semi cannot fit on your road, there is an additional fee to have it shuttled to your property.

The movers that packed upon pickup did a wonderful job, but getting clear answers of when it would be delivered was very hard, but we finally did learn that it would be delivered a day and a half before it was (today is day seven).

Upon delivery, the movers just offloaded everything and left it. They were supposed to unwrap all of the furniture and reassemble. Kitchen table, coffee table, as well as fire pit items and beds were left, wrapped and unassembled.

If you are OK with saving a little bit of money and being in limbo in regards to when you might get your items, and how much the true charge will actually be until after movers are on site (the quote was over $3000 from what was quoted originally) I get that doing a satellite estimate can be difficult, but they should have people on the ground to come to the property because a $3000 increase day of after you are trapped and can’t find another option is not OK.

The one star reflects the fact that my clients would’ve been happy to pay an additional $3000 for a reputable local company to not have any of the inconveniences stated above.

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to McKinney, TX

Worst Moving Experience Ever

After many weeks of researching moving companies for our interstate move from Arizona to Texas we decided upon Golden Gate Relocation. Julie the agent who walked us through the process was great and my family and I felt very comfortable in proceeding with the company. They weren't the cheapest but they also weren't the most expensive and fit into our budget.

When it came time for the actual move things went horribly wrong. First off operations was not proactive in keeping us informed on our upcoming move date. I had to personally keep reaching out, Jim in their Ops division was responsive when I did reach out. After me checking in we were finally assigned a move date and time. Once that happened we made our travel arrangements to Texas. The night before our move date I received a call from David who informed me that they were going to be late because their drop off changed their date/time, but they would be at our house no later than 1 pm, the original time window we received was between 9 am - 11 am which was fine because our flight wasn't till 5 pm that night. The day of the move comes and my family and I are getting worried because it is getting later. I finally hear from David at 1 pm saying that they would arrive no later than 4:30 pm, please note I let David know the day before that we had a 5:30 pm flight. This turned out to be a huge problem because we were not bringing everything with us to Texas we had arranged a cleaning company to take care of items that were not coming. Bottom line they ended up packing items that we did not want packed to Texas and left items behind that we needed. I now need to spend an extra $1000 plus dollars to fly back to Texas to pack up a small moving truck and drive the items back. When one hires a professional moving company you expect them to be on time and to follow simple instructions.

Now the next chapter in the nightmare. After some time our items finally arrive in Texas. There was ZERO care in the movement of our family belongings. I would NEVER trust this company with our family belongings ever again even if they would move them for free. Many breakable items that were clearly marked in "fragile" boxes were destroyed. Due to the severe damage of our belongings the drop off crew couldn't get out of our house fast enough. The few items that we did set up, did not set they up properly. Carlos the delivery man told me even if I gave him an extra $1000 he wouldn't go back in our house. In his words he just delivers the items he is not responsible for the damage. All in all worst moving experience ever.

STAY CLEAR

A moving horror story came to life. I gave Golden Gate Relocation a “1 Star” because there was nothing lower. I hired this company to move me from California to Texas. I expressed my concerns about the horror stories I had heard but they assured me that they were a reputable company. In hindsight, I would gladly accept one of those horror stories in exchange for the one I experienced with this shady company. Well moving day arrived and low and behold came the "well this is going to cost you more" spiel. Of course, they know you are backed into a corner. I mean you must move so what are your options?? I paid he extra $1,400+. Then came the delivery day. WOW!!!!! I was shocked at how many very large and expensive items had gone missing. Makes you ask, “what happened to these items?”. And then the damage to the items that were delivered was incredible. I am not talking about slight damage or nicks and dings; I am talking about major significant damage that clearly shows my property was thrown around causing heavy impact damage. Well, I contacted Golden Gate Relocation and they said I would need to file a claim. Now keep in mind that I had to pay $150 extra for one of the items because it was classified as "oversize", which never showed up. I filed the claim and to my disbelief the settlement offer to make this nightmare right was, get this, $81. Well, they did up the settlement amount to $206 and then again to $500 but that was it. If you want to hire a reputable moving company, then this is NOT the one you want to use. As God is my witness, PLEASE stay far, far away from this company. You WILL certainly be very disappointed and Golden Gate Relocation, since already got their money, they will not be there to resolve anything for you. When I asked for people’s name that are in charge, they refused to provide this information, I wonder why??

Nightmarish Experience

Poor communication, disturbing pickup experience, damaged items, no real recourse for a claim.

The movers did not communicate to me until 5pm on the day of the move (I was told to be on hand, and took off work to do so. I could have worked had I known they wouldn't show up.) At 5pm they said they'd arrive at 7-9pm. When 9pm came and went with no word, I prepared for bed. They then arrived at 10:30pm reeking of weed.

Then no word for three weeks. Only a single text informing me that they would have an ETA for me in the next 24 hours. That turned into days, as the person handling my move (by her own voluntary admission) went on vacation. I was given a Friday window between 4-6pm.

On Saturday I went to an appointment, still having not heard a peep from the movers. They contacted me while I was out to inform me they were 15 minutes away and that I should hurry.

My belongings were damaged; I was handed one of my bookshelves in stick form. My sideboard has one side crushed and is completely unrepairable and unusable. I was directed to file a claim with movingclaims.net.

This site is a scam, frankly. I wouldn't be surprised if it was operated by the same people.

What a mistake

I wish I could say that my experience is rare, but after doing more research I know I’m not the only one. They may have an A rating on some sites, but they have an F rating from CA and the more recent reviews are not good. Here’s our story:

Our movers showed up late in the day and loaded super slow and and sloppily. It took them 4 hours to load our super small house and I had 90% of it in the garage ready to load. By my estimates it should have taken the 3 gentlemen 2 hours max to load which includes wrapping our large furniture. The one guy kept making comments about how my moving dolly was nicer than theirs, then it didn’t show up to our new house I wasn’t surprised.

When taking GGR on to move our things I was told it could take between 3-21 days to get our things. I assumed that meant travel time due to driver/working regulations, but this was not the case. They won’t ship a partial truckload so they waited for other accounts going to the same part of the country in order to create a full shipment. I have a small house so I can’t imagine how long we would’ve had to wait if we didn’t move in the busy season! When I called and asked for clarification on when our things would leave CA, they just said to call back in 10 days for an update on the location of our items. When I called another customer service number they didn’t have a “route” yet. Our stuff is sat in “storage” for 2.5 weeks. No truck, no drivers, no plan. I set this all up 3 months ago, so there really should have been a plan for our stuff to be on the road within 24-48 hours. They didn’t even ask me for the details of our move until a couple days before the pickup.

When our things finally arrived (19 days later) the movers that unloaded the truck were great. They handled our things with care and were very efficient. However, many boxes were smashed (including ones that said fragile) and almost every piece of large furniture we had was scratched or damaged. The insurance policy of 6 cents a pound is not enough to cover the damages by a long shot (we had over $5000 of property damaged or missing).

We had several items missing from our delivery, but still haven’t heard from the company about locating them (a month later). We were also given other people’s things. When we told them they weren’t ours they told us to keep them because otherwise they would throw them away. We kept the items and reported it to GGR, but no effort has been made in the last month to get these things back to their owners despite having the information stickers on each item. One gentleman told us that at their moving/storage facility there are piles of peoples damaged and “lost” aka left behind items.

This was a very frustrating process from start to finish with this company. If I ever have to move again we will be doing things VERY differently.

Lessons learned:

- You get what you pay for. My quote was lower than other companies I researched and I now know why.

- Read through documents very carefully and question everything. I made assumptions and it screwed me in the end.

- Have a backup plan and wiggle room in case things aren’t what they seem on the day of pickup. Had we done this we would’ve backed out the day they came to pick up our stuff.

- Get additional insurance to cover missing or damaged items.

Look elsewhere

The onboarding experience is great. Unfortunately everything else is severely lacking. Poor communication on pick up, wrapping great and loading seemed adequate. From there, completely downhill. No communication to where I had to call to check on delivery. Upon delivery, there was extreme neglect. Boxes missing, furniture damaged and loaded into truck were it clearly going to be damaged. No blankets on furniture and tears in Leather couches. Our boxes marked fragile were all (yes all) crushed. Many of our boxes had been opened and gone through. Many boxes had holes in them and re-taped. Even our Dooley was

Lost with a note attached to a replacement dolly that was not even remotely close to the one lost. They also attempted to deliver something that was not ours (a shirt press) and had to explain several times it wasn’t ours before they put it back in the truck. A table had been dropped several times and the leg was literally broken off. If you have sentimental value to anything you give this mover. Either find another company or buy the insurance. We are so disappointed and seeking legal action at this point. Beware!

Untrustworthy and disrespectful

If I could give them a zero star I would.

I had an issue with Goldengate relocation movers this weekend. They quoted me a price and doubled upon arrival then refused to fulfill their end of the contract.

The foremen were middle eastern and verbally abused me to the point I felt threatened. I was afraid he would strike me. They refused to return the deposit and then retrieved the movers and left all my belongings outside of the unit.

Definitely a gender and cultural issue.

Please read the reviews. Know what type of people work for this company. It’s not worth it. Pricing sounds too good to be true but then they bully you into paying for outrageous, on the spot prices.

The foreman who are middle eastern are abusive and demeaning towards women.

I don’t need this company to reply back because all their responses are generic.

They ALWAYS blame the customer. They do not take accountability.

The foreman went as far as saying that I called the movers “beaners” and that I was disrespectful.

I am of Mexican decent and have a multi-cultural family and would NEVER demean or insult humans. It’s a shame they have to say such things to justify their bad behavior.

If the president would read and listen to these bad reviews he should sweep house. They make for bad business.

I refuse to take this lightly. Currently working with an attorney to get my money back for the deposit and expenses flying from TX to CA to see the move through.

The issue was April 6-7th and they blamed me for everything.

If these middle eastern foremen could, they probably would have beat me up the way they spoke to me. Sad to know there’s men like this.

Gender and cultural discrimination at its best.

DO NOT HIRE THEM. You’ll regret it

I have video of this avise. Sadly I can only include pictures otherwise I would BLAST them.

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Atlanta, GA

Moved Cross Country

Golden Gate moved our 3 bedroom home from LA to Atlanta. Our sales rep Scottie was very helpful and walked us through how each step would take place.

The moving crew arrived on time and took care in packing our items. They disassembled our items and wrapped them . I had a few extra boxes that were added for an additional cost.

The delivery crew was great. They unloaded unpacked and reassembled our belongings. We would highly recommend GG. Overall Great job!

Long-distance move from California to Connecticut

Liars

Golden Gate Relocation picked my items up in California on May 29 and delivered them on June 29. They offered disassembly & reassembly of basic furniture, loading at pick-up & unloading at delivery and blankets, pads, belts, ties, & straps for added protection of furniture. I paid $3150 for this service. When they arrived they did not use blankets, pads or straps. They threw everything into the truck. They promised it would be repacked at the consolidation facility. For the next month I had no idea where my furniture was; all that wonderful salesmanship went out the window. When the items were delivered, people to unpack my items did not show up for 2 hours and tried to get me to pay more money. My items were not packed cleanly in the truck, no padding or pallets to hold them together. Multiple items were interspersed with the next delivery.

During the move in, I recognized that 6 major high-value items were missing (stolen, clearly) and three things were severely damaged. My equine tack trunk was dented, scratched, had severe black sticky residue all 4 sides and was clearly stepped on multiple times. My 200 year old Antique Shaker wood table was destroyed. The company never apologized and the company they used for my claim offered me $60 as compensation because I selected $0.60/per pound damage/loss despite providing excessive documentation of the damage. Forget getting them on the phone unless you do report them to the BBB when they will call you (thanks, Whitney) and tell you you can't do that. I am still fighting this claim valuing damage/loss of over $8000.

Pleasant experience

I was thrilled to escape the bitter cold and start anew in the sunshine, and this team made my move incredibly smooth. When I contacted them, the individual on the line asked precise questions and provided a fair quote later. They dispatched a team of three and a large van. My house had numerous items I didn't want to take with me, and the crew helped me determine which charity to donate them to. The items I did want to take were expertly packed and carefully loaded onto the van. We set a delivery date for eight days after the move, and they delivered on time. I was impressed by the movers' skills and professionalism. Great communication and a smooth moving process. We couldn't be happier with their service. I've never had such a pleasant experience with a moving company before.
